Being a parent is hard enough. I can’t even imagine how hard it is for parents in the armed services. Being called away to duty and having to leave your family for months (is a tour 14 month now?) on end with no way to connect but through letters and occasional phone calls. Well the military wants to help ease that burden. Not by making calls or video chats more available, or by shortening tours of duty. Nope, they want to create a virtual replacement for parents in the service. So while mommy or daddy is busy dodging IEDs and bullets, junior can be lulled to sleep by chatting with virtu-parent.
